The Government of Finland awards the International Gender Equality Prize now for the fourth time. We are now asking for nominations for the 2025 candidate. Anyone is welcome to make a nomination.

The International Gender Equality Prize can be awarded to an individual person, who will donate the prize to a cause that has made significant contributions towards promoting gender equality in a globally significant way. The prize can also be awarded to an organisation fulfilling the same criteria. In 2025 the prize amounts to EUR 300,000. The International Gender Equality Prize is awarded every two years.

Nominations will be accepted until 1 June 2025. An independent international jury will review the submissions. Submit your proposal (in English) using the link below.

In 2023, the prize was awarded to Afghan women skills Development Center, which is fighting for women's empowerment and is doing significant humanitarian work to promote the safety of Afghan women. Prime Minister Petteri Orpo awarded the prize on 11.12.2023 in Tampere.
